At CARELink, our journey began with a simple goal — to make a tangible difference in the everyday lives of families and seniors living in shelters across Virginia. What started as small, volunteer-led drives has grown into a reliable network of community support that delivers both comfort and care where it’s needed most.
Each month, our volunteers assemble and distribute essential care packages that include hygiene products such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, baby diapers, and other personal items. These seemingly small essentials bring enormous relief to individuals and families facing difficult times, helping them maintain dignity and well-being.
Our efforts go beyond the basics — we also focus on enhancing the quality of life for residents in shelters. For example, CARELink proudly donated a ping pong table to the Katherine Hanley Family Shelter. This addition created a joyful communal space that encourages recreation, laughter, and bonding among children and families. It has since become a popular spot for friendly matches and shared moments that lighten hearts and strengthen community ties.
